When You Pay the Listing Fee
Your first listing is free, every sale earns you another, and invite codes are worth several. Once you have none left, the $0.50 listing fee is charged up front when you publish — not when your item sells.
Free listings
Your very first listing on Stonefjord — in any category — is free to publish and needs no card. After that you earn one free listing every time you make a sale, so publishing usually costs you nothing. And if a Stonefjord team member gave you an invite code, redeem it on your My Listings page for several more. Free listings never expire, and they are never taken back — not if an order is refunded, and not if you delete a listing. The one-time $0.50 listing fee applies only once you have none left.
You pay when you publish — before any sale
Once you have no free listings left, the one-time $0.50 listing fee is charged the moment you publish a listing, not when it sells. Your listing goes live as soon as the payment succeeds. It is charged to your saved card up front.
You pay it whether or not the item sells
Because it is a fee to publish the listing — not a fee on the transaction — it applies regardless of whether your listing ever finds a buyer. If a listing never sells, the $0.50 is not refunded.
Free events are always exempt
Free events (no ticket price) are always exempt — no listing fee is charged to publish them, and publishing one never uses up a free listing. Once your free listings run out, every other paid listing pays the $0.50 fee to go live.
It is separate from per-sale fees
The $0.50 listing fee is the only upfront cost. The per-sale seller and buyer fees are taken out of the transaction only when something actually sells — so you never pay those on a listing that does not sell. Those per-sale fees are calculated on the item price plus any shipping you charge (Local Market), never on tax.
